Riding Your Bike on Tour with Voyager! We adhere to the rule 'no-one gets left behind'. We conduct fully guided tours which means you are not left to your own devices when it comes to 'Do I turn left or right?' Each ride sees us leaving our hotel as a group and riding at a relatively steady pace together. During the climbs you are free to go at your own pace, re-grouping at the top with enough time to catch your breath before the descent and the return ride to the hotel.
A fully equipped team car supports our cycling group each day. During the mountain stages, it is positioned at intervals along the road, remaining until everyone has passed and given the thumbs up, then moving onto the next point. An accredited coach is always present to supervise every ride and while showing you a great cycling holiday is what we are about, safety is paramount. Safety tips are outlined in your 'Tour Bible' ensuring you and everyone around you enjoys a memorable yet safe trip. A professional Bike Mechanic is a permanent fixture on all of our tours ensuring there is no puncture left unattended - no dragging chains - no bolts or screws loose that can hinder your enjoyment of the ride. Distances covered daily range from 80km to 150km being the maximum. There is always the option of using the support vehicle for any remaining distance you do not wish to cover by bike. Simply enjoy the scenery from the seat of your chauffeured vehicle! Our rides are all pleasantly interrupted by coffee stops along the way, allowing you time to take in some quaint and picturesque towns and villages throughout a splendid countryside with plenty of Kodak moments!
Most of our tours include rest days as these holidays are not only about cycling. We want you to go home with more than just an experience of riding your bike in a different country with the distant hum of a foreign language playing in your ear. There is the food, the wine, the scenery, the people and the daily laughter that goes with traveling alongside a group of like minded souls. Leading up to your departure date, we provide you with a suggested training programme that will help you prepare physically for the climbs that we will be tackling throughout the tour. This is only our suggestion, if you have your own tried and tested method of training, do not deviate! With your own professional Coach, Bike Mechanic and Photographer on board, you are sure to take home some wonderful memories and images that will serve to remind you for years to come of your time away with Voyager Cycling Tours. Please note, we do not provide bikes for use during our tours. As we cover long distances and major climbs it is in your interest to bring your own trusty stead ensuring you are at your most comfortable each day.
